Midnight Cry News Article 01/31/05

The first practice I came to was around the first of January 2005. We had a lot of fun and got to know each other, joked around, and came up with a new song called "Take My Hand." The second practice we heard about an audition which I was skeptical about. We decided to practice Come Emmanuel and Take My Hand for the audition. At this point we were moving through drummers like corn through the digestive system. Finally we got hooked up with Opland who was an awesome drummer at the ripe old age of 16. We got our two songs down solid (drilled them into the ground, pounded them into the dirt, and last but not least, rubbed them into the carpet, kinda like when you have something less than desirable on the bottom of your shoe, and you're trying to nonchalantly remove it). So anyways, we went to the audition and found out that it was mainly a modeling competition. After about an hour and a half, I started seeing hallucinations. It was unbearable. We had no food or water. We couldn't even leave to go to the bathroom. And that's when I looked over and saw what appeared to be J. Lo. I'm not a fan or anything, but I had to ask. "So are you J. Lo?" I queried. "No," she said with a disgusted look. Her words pierced through me like daggers. The embarrassment was astounding. Well, not really. But that pretty much concludes the month of January.
So for now, goodnight, farewell, and we'll see you next time.................. Jason B
