Midnight Cry News Article 12/10/04

Our history isn't very long because we just started the band about a month ago, however, I can tell you how the band got started.
Patrick and I have been friends for a long time and have played together many times. On my previous instrumental CD's, he added guitar and we recorded together quite a bit. We were getting sick of just listening to ourselves play, though, and so we wanted to see if we could start a band. It just kind of fell into place when we met Josh and Joshua was an old friend of Pat's, so we invited him to come jam with us one night and we decided this would be the start of our band. Only two days after we even practiced together, we were asked to play for a youth service in Deer Park. We gladly accepted, but had almost no preparation time and just pretty much winged it. It went surprisingly well, thanks to everyone's quick learning skills (:-D), and we didn't even have a name for the band yet. Once we started practicing for our Christmas Concert on December 18th, we brainstormed and brainstormed to try to figure out a name for the band. We finally decided to call it Midnight Cry, from a verse in the Bible (Matthew 25:6) that says, "And at midnight there was a cry made, 'Behold, the bridegroom has come; go out to meet him." Since then not much has happened except for the development of this website and practice.
